This coffee shop provides both a great place to meet with friends and a warm, relaxing atmosphere. College students can be found camped out in the corners completing homework and sipping on the moderately priced hot coffee. Coffee Underground can be found on Coffee Street in downtown Greenville.

It has a really cool atmosphere and I’ve always been a nerd for the comfy couches.

To avoid the cold weather, head to the Greenville County Museum of Art (GCMA) for a wonderful display of southern art. The beautiful displays of southern culture and high collection of water color paintings will help distract from the freezing temperatures.

Several great services provided to the public in downtown Greenville would be the trolleys. Trolleys are found all throughout downtown and are free to the public. These will keep you out of the cold and help save money on gas.

5. Mountain Goat Indoor Rock Climbing

This non-profit rock climbing facility is a great place for you and a group of friends to venture out and have some serious indoor fun to escape the cold. The price is $16 to climb all day while they are open. Hours run Tuesday through Friday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays noon to 8 p.m.

6. Tealoha

If coffee isn’t your thing, try hitting up Tealoha located on 131 East McBeen Ave. in downtown Greenville. It offers a wide variety of teas that are sure to warm you up this winter.

This delightful family owned business has been serving downtown Greenville since 1898. It provides a wonderful collection of outdoor goods, pet supplies, clothes, shoes and even a small candy shop.

So bundle up and grab your friends and prepare for an adventure.

It is a very fun and family friendly environment that I have loved going to since I was a little girl.
